We use our home made compost in the following ways:
- In our vegetable garden
- Mixed into potting soil for house plants and outside potted plants
- Mixed into new tree and shrub holes
- As mulch
Some organic gardeners prefer not to disturb their soil, so they just layer it on top of an existing plot.
Still others, create mounds of compost over time and then plant directly into the mound. This keeps the beneficial microorganisms in place.
Where ever you use your compost, it will enrich the soil with nutrients, assist in moisture retention and make it more workable.
