Making home composting easier goes a long way towards sticking to your goals.
Using a small, in home container works well for us.
This particular compost bin has a charcoal filter that captures any odors produced by the breakdown of waste. We have also used a small bin just outside our backdoor.
These types of bins must have a lid and be accessible. (If you don’t make it easy, your family make throw valuable scraps away instead of composting them.)
They need to be emptied every few days into a larger compost bin or pile.
It’s all about ease of the work flow.
